Kokua Lana'i Tutors Dozens of Students In New After-school Program
Since begining our after-school program, Kokua Lana'i has tutored more than 25 students. The program began Wednesday, January 21, when elementary students were invited to come to the campus of Lanai Baptist Church (corner of Gay and 6th Street), where Kokua Lana'i approved volunteers coach students through their homework assignments. Students  also receive a light, healthy snack.

The schedule is as follows:
Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays: 2:00 p.m to 4:00 p.m.
Wednesdays: 1:15: p.m. to 3:15 p.m.

The program is free. Parents are also invited to drop by and participate with their students or to simply observe. We hope to expand the program next year to include middle school and senior high students who will be invited to participate in tutoring, mentoring, and leadership programs.
